Colt Smith never let Rancho Cucamonga get something going. The Lake Elsinore right-hander commanded his changeup in pitching the Storm to a 2-1 win. The win has Lake Elsinore at 36-57.
Mario Hernández had a big run-scoring double for the Storm in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Lake Elsinore leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Osborne and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Storm ahead, 2-0.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Rancho Cucamonga manager Matt Holliday. "Obviously."
