The Lancaster JetHawks beat the Visalia Rawhide, 6-3, at Recreation Park. Lancaster third baseman Al Baker led the way. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Mal Morrison, who is tied for 6th in the CAL in wins with 7, was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Otton van Rey locked down his 24th save.
Lancaster grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Baker hit a 2-run home run off Al Ford. His 13th home run of the season put the JetHawks out in front, 4-2.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Baker. "And not try to do too much."
Lancaster leads the South Division by 11 games.
