The San Jose Giants knocked off the Visalia Rawhide, 7-4, in California League action at San Jose Municipal Stadium. San Jose pitcher and Woodway, Texas, native Ismael Lucero had an outstanding performance. With the win, San Jose pushed its record to 50-39.

Lucero was charged with no runs on 4 hits over 7 innings for the Giants. With the win, the 6-foot-5 , 205-pound right-hander goes to 8-6.

Lucero told a San Jose Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
