Lancaster Makes High Desert 11-8 Losers
High Desert first baseman Tony Martínez was sensational. He was 3-5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Lancaster beat the Mavericks, 11-8. The JetHawks have an impressive 53-28 record.

The Mavericks had been locked in a 6-6 tie with the JetHawks going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old shortstop Ron Nolan came to the plate. Nolan hit a bases-clearing triple on a 1-0 cutter from High Desert hurler Gil Burns. It was Nolan's 4th triple of the year.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said High Desert manager Vance Wilson.
