Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Bakersfield Blaze and Visalia Rawhide.

Bakersfield beat Visalia on the strength of starting pitcher Randy Gordon's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Chad Payling was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 20 of 23 save opportunities.

Ed Green had a big 2-run double for the Blaze in the bottom of the second inning. With Bakersfield leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Al Ford, who is tied for 8th in the CAL with a 10.1 K/9 rate, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 24th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blaze ahead, 3-0.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Green.
