The Modesto Nuts got a sterling performance from catcher Víctor Ocasio, but the San Jose Giants still prevailed, 8-7. Ocasio was 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. San Jose, at 44-33, is 2 games up in the North Division.

The decisive blow was delivered by Josh Ford in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old left-handed pitcher Kel Clark to win the game for San Jose. The home crowd went nuts.

"That's how to finish a ballgame," said Ford.
