The Bakersfield Blaze cut down the Visalia Rawhide by the score of 5-4, with the largest share of the credit going to center fielder José Barajas. Barajas was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Blaze. Brad Bane earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He upped his record to 1-2. Chris Hall earned the save for Bakersfield, his 6th.
Steve Graves, who is tied for 10th in the CAL in doubles with 16, aided the Bakersfield cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the second baseman was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Bakersfield manager Joe McEwing.
The Blaze now have a record of 42-32 with the win over Visalia.
