Giants Pick Up 5-3 Win Against Visalia
|
San Jose pitcher Edgardo Roa did his part in helping his team beat the Visalia Rawhide, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Roa yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-4. Hal Powell was called on to finish, recording his 16th save.
San Jose catcher Bob Jones contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 27th hit of the season and put the Giants ahead, 2-1.
Roa called the win "a collective effort."
The winning streak has now reached 7 games for San Jose.
