Bakersfield registered a win at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark by beating the San Jose Giants, 7-1. Pitcher Chris Hall was one reason why the Blaze triumphed. Hall picked up the win for Bakersfield, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 4-8. The loss makes San Jose 34-29.
Ed Green was 1-5. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Bakersfield. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run single off Ismael Lucero. It was his 63rd hit of the season.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Green told the Bakersfield Gazette.
