San Jose Giants starter Juan Pérez led his team to victory over the Bakersfield Blaze, 3-2. The right-hander was locked-in. The win for the Giants lifted their record to 29-22.

Leo Dodson dealt the Blaze a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and San Jose leading 2-1, Dodson, who is tied for 8th in the CAL in triples with 3, hit a 0-2 splitter for a run-scoring single.

"Juan did a good job of managing their lineup," said San Jose manager Steve Liddle.
