The San Jose Giants beat the Lake Elsinore Storm, 5-2. San Jose pitcher and Woodway, Texas, native Ismael Lucero led the way. The Giants are now 22-20.

Manny Gómez had a big solo home run for the Giants in the top of the fourth inning. With San Jose leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Junior Yapp and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Giants on top, 3-1.

"It feels good to get this one," Gómez told the San Jose Daily News.
