The Inland Empire 66ers topped the Bakersfield Blaze, 8-2, at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark. Inland Empire left fielder Jim Taylor was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. With the loss, Bakersfield drops to 15-13.

In the top of the seventh, the 66ers grabbed the lead when Taylor hit his 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Chris Hall made it 4-1, Inland Empire.

"Things went our way," said Taylor.
