Nuts Get Thrilling 7-6 Win
The Modesto Nuts battled the Lake Elsinore Storm into extra innings before the outcome was decided. The Nuts won it, finally, 7-6, in 17 innings. In the game, Modesto right fielder Ken Boyd went 5-8 with a home run, 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Modesto reliever Mike Sanford picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Tim Roberts absorbed the loss. Lake Elsinore, now 5-20, continues its tough start.
