Miller Excels in 7-4 Modesto Win
The Modesto Nuts stopped the Inland Empire 66ers, 7-4, behind an impressive performance from Joe Miller. The 24-year old left fielder made life miserable for Inland Empire pitching. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Mike Blowey. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. Picking up his 3rd save was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Kel Clark.

Miller had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count cutter from Oscar Oglethorpe, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Nuts a 7-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Miller.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Miller.

The 66ers, 8-9, continue their sluggish start to the 2025 campaign.
