The Visalia Rawhide trumped the Stockton Ports, 12-6, at Banner Island Ballpark. Visalia shortstop José Gómez was terrific. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Now 5-8, the Ports have gotten off to a poor start.

The Rawhide got a big hit from first baseman Charles Pigafetta. Facing Stockton pitcher Mario Román in the top of the sixth, Pigafetta pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season put the Rawhide ahead, 12-2.

"What we get, we earn," Gómez told the Visalia News.
