Inland Empire 66ers starter Juan Méndez was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Lake Elsinore Storm, 4-3. César Domínguez earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. Shawn Rice finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Cisco Cruz helped out the Inland Empire cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder went 1-4 with a double and a walk.

"Juan did what Juan does," said Inland Empire manager Kent Matthes.

Lake Elsinore, with the loss, is still a stout 7-3.
