Quintana Slugs Storm to 12-6 Win
The Lake Elsinore Storm beat the High Desert Mavericks, 12-6, at Lake Elsinore Diamond. The Storm got a fine performance from third baseman Edgardo Quintana, who slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 5. Ken Fisher was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 6 runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. The Storm, now 6-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.

Arturo Granados had a big 2-run triple for the Storm in the bottom of the second inning. With Lake Elsinore leading 3-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Enrico Flores and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Storm ahead, 5-1.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Quintana told the Lake Elsinore Chronicle.
