High Desert Mavericks starter Pat Peterson turned in a top-notch performance against the Lake Elsinore Storm at Lake Elsinore Diamond. The result was a win for the Mavericks, 7-1. High Desert has a record of 3-2.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Bobby Schultz came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Lake Elsinore pitcher Eric Jackson, he hit a first pitch curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting High Desert on top, 2-1.
