Giants Score 7-5 Win Against Rancho Cucamonga
The San Jose Giants topped the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, 7-5, in California League action at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of San Jose pitcher Ismael Lucero. Lucero got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 9 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 3 runs. San Jose is off to a hot start at 3-1.

San Jose took a 7-3 lead on Bob Brock's 1st triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Brock hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Rancho Cucamonga pitcher Chris Baird visibly frustrated.

San Jose manager Steve Liddle was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
