Dave Hogan impressed in the 9-3 Hillsboro win over Vancouver. Hogan, who is tied for 7th in the NWL in doubles with 5, was 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winner was Kevin Wright, who threw 116 pitches over 6 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits. Jake Lewis sewed up the save, his 1st.

The Canadians had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Hops going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old first baseman Eric Stanley came to the plate. Stanley hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch fastball from Vancouver hurler Dan Ball. It was Stanley's 5th double of the year.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Hillsboro manager Mike Bell.

Vancouver falls to 6-5.
