Britt Helps Rome Take Round 1 Game 1
The Rome Hammers started the Round 1 in style, downing the visiting Charleston RiverDogs at State Mutual Stadium by a score of 7-4 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Hammers catcher Lou Britt was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

Chip Lutz helped out the Rome cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the shortstop was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.
