The Bakersfield Blaze were good enough to get past the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes at LoanMart Field today and secure the 3rd championship in franchise history.

"When you wear Blaze on your shirt, you're good at something," Bakersfield skipper Joe McEwing told the press.

Blaze right fielder Luis Carranza was named MVP of the series after he went .312 with 2 home runs and 5 runs batted in.

"It feels totally incredible," Carranza said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment."

The new champions capped off a great season with a 2-0 victory over the Quakes to win the Round 2 4-3.
