The Round 1 is tied at 1 games apiece, thanks to a dramatic walk-off victory at Joker Marchant Stadium for the Lakeland Flying Tigers.

24-year-old pinch hitter Chris Jacobs was the star for Lakeland, as he was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the Joker Marchant Stadium contest. The 5-4 Lakeland triumph allowed the team to even the best-of-5 series with the Dunedin Blue Jays at 1-1.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Lakeland trailing 4-3, Jacobs jumped on a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Jerry Pagán and hit a 2-run home run to right-center. With one swing, the Flying Tigers had a walk-off win.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Dunedin manager Jose Mejia. "But we decided not to take it."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 12th , 2026 at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium in Dunedin.
