Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Jerry Uht Park.

The Erie SeaWolves overcame a pretty good performance by Akron center fielder José Zamora, beating the RubberDucks, 5-4, in 10 innings. Zamora went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. The SeaWolves, now 9-3, have been on fire in the early going.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the tenth, an error by the RubberDucks allowed the SeaWolves to score the winning run.

"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Brad Ausmus.
