New Hampshire Slaps 6-2 Loss on Reading
|
Despite a great performance by Reading center fielder Dave McIntyre, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats defeated the Fightin Phils by the score of 6-2 at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. McIntyre was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times. New Hampshire reliever Ethan Spencer picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Rubén Palácios was saddled with the loss. The loss lowers the Reading record to 5-6.
The Fisher Cats got a big at-bat from first baseman Álex Pérez. For the game, Pérez went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave New Hampshire a 3-1 lead.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Pérez. "It sure beats the alternative."
