Sea Dogs Deal Fisher Cats 4-1 Defeat
|
Portland Sea Dogs starter Dan Bell turned in a top-notch performance against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The result was a win for the Sea Dogs, 4-1. The winning pitcher was Bell, now 2-0. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. The win puts Portland at 7-3.
Portland used a timely hit from Nelson Martínez to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sea Dogs ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Portland manager Stu Cole.
