Twins Beaten By Cardinals, 5-1
|
The St. Louis Cardinals satisfied the home crowd at Busch Stadium, treating them to a season-opening win, 5-1, over the Minnesota Twins. Starting Pitcher Daniel Missaki was the standout performer for St. Louis.
St. Louis designated hitter Zak Taylor helped the Cardinals go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Taylor hit a run-scoring single off Minnesota pitcher Huascar Ynoa.
"It was just a matter of executing," said St. Louis manager Ty Van Burkleo.
