Round 1 Game 1 Victory for Perales and Winston-Salem
When he got to Winston-Salem, António Perales was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Round 1.

The 22-year-old rookie left-hander shut out the visiting Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 1-0, in a remarkable performance at New Winston-Salem Ballpark. With the win, the Dash took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 Round 1.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Dash had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when right fielder Sammy Simmons hit a run-scoring double. The double came off Doug Hancock and made the score 1-0, Dash. Simmons was 2-3 with a double and a walk.

Simmons attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at New Winston-Salem Ballpark in Winston-Salem.
