Alomar Smacks 5 Hits for Mustangs
Shawn Alomar was at the head of a Billings Mustangs hit parade today at Dehler Park. The 20-year-old went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Helena Brewers that marched off with the 11-10 win.

"We didn't have it today," griped Mustangs skipper Lamarr Rogers following the game. "Shawn did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching."

Alomar did more than fine, dominating the Brewers at the plate during his record-making 5-for-6 performance.

"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging left fielder told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."

Shawn Alomar doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Stan Shaw in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.

This season Alomar has hit 9 home runs and posted a .321 batting average.
