SeaWolves Even With Flying Squirrels After Home Win
Behind a bravura effort from starter Albert Ramírez, the Erie SeaWolves topped the Richmond Flying Squirrels by the score of 7-2 and got their first win in the 2026 Round 1. Ramírez threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball for the SeaWolves. The win moves Erie into a 1-1 tie with Richmond.

Ramírez, a native of Dixmont, Maine, was dealing all game. He kept Richmond hitters off-balance, while giving the SeaWolves 6.2 quality innings. Ramírez threw 100 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 6.

"Every team in baseball loses," Flying Squirrels manager Mike Sarbaugh said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 13th , 2026 at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium in Richmond.
