Hernández, Curve March to 6-4 Victory
The Reading Fightin Phils and Altoona Curve riveted fans at People's Natural Gas Field.

Led by José Hernández, the Altoona Curve defeated the Reading Fightin Phils, 6-4. Hernández went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Curve. The winning pitcher was Mike Minor. He's now 1-1. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits for the Curve.

With Altoona leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Hernández hit a fastball from Kevin Rodgers for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Curve ahead, 4-1.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Hernández told a Altoona Today reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

The Fightin Phils, 5-5, continue their so-so start to the 2026 season.
