Great Falls starter David Velásquez pitched well against the Billings Mustangs at Centene Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-5. Velásquez picked up the win for Great Falls, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Chad Bulloch got the save, the 1st for him this season.

The Voyagers got a big hit from second baseman Charlie Jacobs. Facing Billings pitcher José Fernández in the bottom of the seventh, Jacobs pounded a run-scoring double to right. His 12th double of the season put the Voyagers ahead, 6-1.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Jacobs told the Great Falls Daily.

The triumph puts Great Falls at 27-16 for the season.
