Rockies Get Clutch Win, 3-2
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the ACL Rockies and ACL Athletics.
The ACL Rockies weathered a fine game by ACL right fielder Ernesto García to upend the Athletics, 3-2, at Papago Park Sports Facility. García went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Juan García earned the save, his 1st, for the Rockies.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Raúl Rodríguez? The 21-year old catcher Rodríguez stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put ACL up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said ACL skipper Shawn Denton, "and it cost us."
With the loss, ACL falls to 2-3.
