The ACL Angels handed the ACL Rangers a 6-3 defeat at Surprise Stadium. Third Baseman Mac Arroyo starred for ACL. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Walt Gregory. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Raúl Ortíz was credited with the save for ACL, his 1st of the season.

With ACL leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Arroyo hit a 2-run single off ACL hurler Rob Powers. It was the 3rd hit of the season for Arroyo and put his team ahead, 4-1.
