Amalia Lifts Mustangs to 6-3 Triumph
|
The Billings Mustangs defeated the Great Falls Voyagers, 6-3, at Dehler Park. Leading the charge for Billings was first baseman José Amalia. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Ken Baker earned the win for Billings. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 12. With the win, he raised his record to 1-1. The loss puts Great Falls at 3-2.
With Billings leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Amalia hit a fastball from Charlie Burks for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Mustangs ahead, 4-0.
