Tony Martínez, who is tied for 8th in the EL in saves with 16, never let the RubberDucks get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Baysox to a win, 3-1. Martínez, now 4-7, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The win puts Bowie at 56-83.

Bowie right fielder Rob Robinson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 108th hit of the season and put the Baysox ahead, 3-1.

"Tony was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Bowie manager Jack McDowell.
