New Britain Loses, 5-3, to Harrisburg in 10
|
The Harrisburg Senators faced a tough opponent in New Britain pitcher Jesús Luna, but still scratched out a win at New Britain Stadium by a final score of 5-3 in 10 innings. Luna went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. Harrisburg pitcher Luis Cordero earned the win, hiking his record to 2-3. Kel Clark suffered the loss. The Senators improved their record to 50-87 with the win over New Britain.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Francis López came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing New Britain pitcher Brad Mason, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Harrisburg on top, 4-3.
López attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
