With left fielder Luis Provolone leading the charge, the Erie SeaWolves defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 11-2, at Jerry Uht Park. Provolone, who leads the EL in total bases with 253, was 3-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Sam McClure, the 37th overall pick in the 2023 draft, was the winner. He's now 6-1. The loser was Manny Pérez. The victory gives Erie a record of 83-53.

Provolone had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second to put Erie in front, 2-0. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Richmond pitcher Manny Pérez.

"The team always comes first," Provolone told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
