Akron Hangs 5-2 Loss on Harrisburg
|
RubberDucks right fielder Luis Carlos left his mark on his team's 5-2 win over the Harrisburg Senators. Carlos hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for Akron in the contest. The winning pitcher was Ed Jacobs. He's now 5-9. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits for the RubberDucks. Ken Jordan earned the save, his 20th in 25 tries.
With Akron leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Carlos hit a fastball from Walt Powers for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the RubberDucks ahead, 4-0.
Carlos said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
The 5th-place RubberDucks are 54-77.
