Baysox Absorb 5-2 Home Loss
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Erie SeaWolves and Bowie Baysox.
The Erie SeaWolves faced a tough opponent in Bowie pitcher Tony Gómez, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Prince George's Stadium by a final score of 5-2. Gómez went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Joe Glass earned the win for Erie. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 6-1.
It could have been a different outcome for Erie, had it not been for Lonnie Tyler, the 24-year old first baseman . Tyler contributed a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Erie up, 4-2.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Erie manager Brad Ausmus.
The first-place SeaWolves, at 77-52, lead the Southern Division by 3 games.
