Fisher Cats Flatten Fightin Phils, 9-3
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats topped the Reading Fightin Phils, 9-3, in Eastern League action at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of New Hampshire pitcher Williams Mendoza. Mendoza, now 14-9, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The Fisher Cats bumped their record to 70-55 with this latest triumph.

Jody Johns had a big run-scoring double for the Fisher Cats in the bottom of the fourth inning. With New Hampshire leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a cutter from Chip Patrick and swatted a double to center. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fisher Cats ahead, 2-0.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Johns.
