Rob Thompson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Portland Sea Dogs from being beaten, 9-4, to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Thompson was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Williams Mendoza earned the win for New Hampshire. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 13-8. Ethan Spencer nailed down his 5th save.

In the bottom of the fourth, New Hampshire designated hitter Kelly Dugan had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and two out, Dugan stroked a run-scoring single to right-center. It made the score 3-2, New Hampshire. For the game, he went 1-4 with a walk.
