SeaWolves Fall Short, 3-2, at Binghamton
In a low-scoring contest between the Binghamton Mets and the Erie SeaWolves, Walt Wallis was the X factor. The Binghamton right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Wallis, now 6-4, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 7, and allowing 2 runs. The loss makes Erie 63-46.

Binghamton pinch hitter Claude Johnson helped the Mets go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Johnson hit a run-scoring single off Erie pitcher Sean Bullock.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Johnson, "one at-bat at a time."
