The Binghamton Mets topped the Erie SeaWolves, 5-3, in Eastern League action at NYSEG Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Binghamton pitcher and Baywood-Los Osos, California, native Rudy Alexander. The winner was Alexander. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Juan Vázquez. With the win, the Mets have a record of 50-57.

Odalis García had a big 2-run double for the Mets in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Binghamton leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Juan Vázquez and swatted a double to right. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mets ahead, 4-0.

García attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
