Sea Dogs Get Clonked by Senators, 5-2
|
The Portland Sea Dogs and Harrisburg Senators left the fans buzzing.
Harrisburg right fielder Chris Sampson played a vital role in his team's 5-2 conquest of Portland. He was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Harrisburg. Harrisburg reliever Luis Rivas was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Ken Wright. Wasim Suri was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities.
With Harrisburg leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Sampson hit a cutter from Ken Wright for a grand slam home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Senators ahead, 5-0.
"I was making good contact tonight," said Sampson.
The win puts Harrisburg at 42-62.
