The Bowie Baysox had to overcome a good performance from Akron pitcher Orlando Galindo to claim a 3-1 win at Canal Park. Galindo went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Ken Cooper earned the save, his 12th in 15 tries. The setback makes Akron 42-60.

Wally Clark had a direct impact on the outcome. Clark contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the tenth inning to put Bowie up, 2-1.
