The Bowie Baysox picked up a win at Prince George's Stadium, dropping the Binghamton Mets, 6-2. Aurelio Gobbi was the difference-maker. The win puts Bowie at 38-62.

The Baysox got a big hit from third baseman Scot Smith. Facing Binghamton pitcher Monte Craig in the bottom of the fifth, Smith pounded a bases-clearing double to right. His 22nd double of the season put the Baysox ahead, 5-1.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Bowie skipper Jack McDowell.
