Fisher Cats Upend Fightin Phils, 9-3
The 9-3 New Hampshire win over Reading was due largely to Don Morán. The Fisher Cats right fielder went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times. Joel Vallance, the winner, goes to 11-7. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 5 walks and 7 strikeouts over 9 innings. The victory gives New Hampshire a record of 54-45.

Tynan Cotto had a big 3-run home run for the Fisher Cats in the top of the second inning. With New Hampshire leading 3-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a cutter from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Tony Smith and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Fisher Cats on top, 6-0.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Morán told the New Hampshire Daily.
