Akron starter Jesús Martínez pitched well against the Altoona Curve at Canal Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4, in 12 innings. Ken Jordan, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-3. The decisive blow was delivered by Juan Alaorbar in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Tim Gray to win the game for Akron. The home crowd went nuts.
