The Binghamton Mets powered past the Reading Fightin Phils, 12-7, at FirstEnergy Stadium. Noel Owens provided some of the pop. He was 2-2 with a home run, a double, and 3 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The Mets improved their record to 47-50 with the win over Reading.

Despite the loss, the Fightin Phils got an encouraging performance from 22-year-old Brad Penn. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a bases-clearing double to make the score 11-7, Binghamton. "It's not easy for a young guy to go out there and perform," Fightin Phils manager Shaun Larkin said. "But he did it like one of the vets."
